Lebeau-Courally is bringing out the big guns to make it in the world of haute horlogerie. The historic Belgian gunsmith has been creating interesting timepieces for a while and its Micro II calibre with micro-rotor is the latest and greatest so far.
Lebeau-Courally is ready for the “Manufacture” collection part 2 with the introduction of the Micro II. This new movement, wholly designed, manufactured, and assembled in-house at Le Locle, is fitted with a micro-rotor; the stuff watch aficionados drool over. The Micro II is a very important movement for the Liège based company since they’ll be building the future of the forthcoming Manufacture collections on it.

Micro II beats at a rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour and is equipped with a three-day power reserve, the movement – only 30 mm in diameter and a mere 3.1 mm thick – displays the hours and minutes in the centre, with a small seconds display at 9 o’clock. With the number of components reduced to 166, the Micro II embodies a new vision around mechanical minimalism. For starters, Micro II will be used in four limited editions totalling 45 pieces in all: two series in red gold and two in steel, each available in engraved and non-engraved options. The watch face of the Lebeau-Courally Microrotor exudes elegance and austerity to enhance its clarity and ease of use. With its central hands for hours and minutes, and the hand for seconds at nine o’clock, the Microrotor enables excellent legibility of this watch’s sole function. Furthermore, the austere design sets the perfect scene for optional bespoke engraving by the LebeauCourally Manufacture in Liège.
Just like renowned hunting arms
The Lebeau-Courally Microrotor is the first watch of the Le Locle manufacture to which Lebeau-Courally Master craftsmen in Belgium contribute. Upon demand of the owner, the main plate front of the watch movement can be engraved. The design and execution of the engraving is fully done by hand by Lebeau-Courally Master craftsmen in their renowned atelier in Liège in Belgium, where the house’s renowned hunting arms are being created and assembled on commission. For this, the case is sent off to the atelier in Belgium to fully handcraft its bespoke embellishment. After finishing, the case is sent back to Le Locle. All watch parts are then further assembled, finished and tested. The front engraving is visible through the semi-open dial. The traditional côte de Genève finishing on the back and the functioning of the movement are visible though the sapphire back of the watch.
Swiss Made with ease
All Lebeau-Corally Microrotors will be designed, built, assembled, and tested in Le Locle, thus easily exceeding the minimum legal requirements to qualify as Swiss Made. The first Micro II collections will be available in September 2017. Starting price for the steel version is € 8,570 (all taxes included) and a steel Microrotor with engraving will set you back € 11,570 (all taxes included).
