Jaeger-LeCoultre Expands Polaris Collection With Stunning Polaris Geographic WT Limited Edition

After its debut earlier this year at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) in Geneva, the Polaris collection received a warm welcome from the press and watch connoisseurs alike. This might have inspired Jaeger-LeCoultre to now launch a special edition, limited to 250 pieces, which will only be available at the Jaeger-LeCoultre boutiques.

The Polaris Geographic WT is as practical as it is beautiful. The ‘WT’ in its name stands for World Time, and references to the outer ring on the dial, in which the current time in all the major time zones around the world can easily be read. The traveller who wears this watch is further aided by the small sub dial at six o’clock which can display a reference or home-time. A power reserve indicator and a date complete the array of complications of this watch.

What rivals the practicality of this watch is its beauty. For this boutique edition, Jaeger-LeCoultre opted for a deep, smoky blue dial, that becomes black towards the edges. This gives quite a stunning effect on the watch, which is even further enhanced by the black alligator leather strap.

Also, the dimensions of the Polaris Geographic WT are spot on because with a diameter of 42mm it has a modern size, that makes the complications easy to read. The thickness of 11.54mm is slender enough to let it slip under the cuff of a shirt, yet with a water resistance of 100 meters the watch is not afraid of water either. Combined this makes for a perfect travel companion in a very tempting packaging!

When we started publishing our first high-end watch magazine in 1999, we had only one intention: increasing the popularity of high-quality mechanical watches. Now, many years later, this has not changed at all. In 2017 we have reinvented ourselves to serve our readers in a different and better way. Starting in 2017, the new 0024 is again better equipped to interact with the changing world of high-end watches. The new 0024 HORLOGES magazine (written in Dutch) will be at least a 200 pager: that’s twice the volume of our magazine in the old days.
