A. Lange & Söhne introduces Datograph Up/Down ‘Lumen’

A. Lange & Söhne introduces Datograph Up/Down 'Lumen'
Could A. Lange & Söhne still improve their already sensational Datograph Up/Down? Yes, they apparently could, as the newly introduced ‘Lumen’ version proofs! The brand took advantage of the opening of their revamped Dresden boutique to launch this limited edition of 200 pieces.

Fitted in a platinum case you will find the same movement, with its bridges crafted from German Silver, and seemingly only a partially open worked dial. However, when the lights go out, this A. Lange & Söhne shows why it is called ‘Lumen’. Not just the large date glows up, but also the chronograph seconds hand, both sub counters, as well as the outer tachymeter ring! This gives the watch a surprising edge.

When the watch is on the wrist and the lights are still on, this limited edition offers even more added value. Thanks to the open worked dial you can now also admire the incredible finishing of the movement that A. Lange & Söhne is known for. With a diameter of 41mm the watch is perfectly proportioned and on the back manual wind caliber L951.7 can be admired in all its glory. Needless to say: this movement is made completely in-house in the brand’s manufacture in Glashütte.

When we started publishing our first high-end watch magazine in 1999, we had only one intention: increasing the popularity of high-quality mechanical watches. Now, many years later, this has not changed at all. In 2017 we have reinvented ourselves to serve our readers in a different and better way. Starting in 2017, the new 0024 is again better equipped to interact with the changing world of high-end watches. The new 0024 HORLOGES magazine (written in Dutch) will be at least a 200 pager: that’s twice the volume of our magazine in the old days.
