Some might recall that before Cartier launched their Fine Watch Making collection with highly complicated pieces, they had CPCP; Collection Privée Cartier Paris. In this collection, you could find all the refined, classic designs of La Maison. Cartier now returns to this tradition with Cartier Privé.
The first watches to be launched in this collection are two versions of the tonneau. Arguably one of Cartier’s most elegant creations (which says a lot, given the fact that this is an area in which they excel). The brand offers it now in a slightly revised design with a stunning sunburst dial, applied Roman numerals and blued Breguet hands. It is powered by a manual wind movement and is available in 18 carat pink gold, as well as a limited edition of 100 pieces in platinum.
Cartier is not completely forgoing complications, as they proved with the Tonneau Skeleton Dual Time. Here, the dial is divided into two sections, each showing the time in a different time zone. The beauty is that they are powered by a single movement and thanks to the skeletonized dial it can be admired in all its glory. Because the Tonneau is slightly curved, so is the movement, only adding to its appeal. The Tonneau Skeleton Dual Time is also available in 18 carat pink gold as well as platinum, but with this model, both versions are limited to 100 pieces.
