Hitting It Hard: Longines Unites Top Tennis Players At Roland Garros

Longines Unites Top Tennis Players At Roland Garros

At this year’s edition of Roland Garros, Rafael Nadal could put another notch on his belt, as did Simona Halep, both winning this prestigious tennis tournament. The timekeeping was in the capable hands of Longines, but the brand did much more than just that to show its support to the noble game of tennis. With the Longines Future Tennis Aces Tournament, they set out to seek the champions of tomorrow. These young talents were supported by former no.1 of the world Arantxa Sanchez and no.2, Alex Corretja.

Longines was even able to tempt tennis legends Andre Agassi and Stefanie Graf, to take to the court again, as the brand celebrated the ten-year alliance with their charity organizations. During an exclusive Gala evening at the Musee Rodin, in the heart of Paris, Longines even went a step further, and introduced ten sets of a limited edition version of the Conquest V.H.P. “Very High Precision” which are to be auctioned off, with the proceeds to benefit the charities that Andre Agassi and Stefanie Graf founded.

It was also a Conquest V.H.P. “Very High Precision” that was awarded to the two winners of the Longines Future Tennis Aces Tournament. A fitting metaphor, as the watch shares the precision and longevity needed to become one of the top tennis players in the world.

When we started publishing our first high-end watch magazine in 1999, we had only one intention: increasing the popularity of high-quality mechanical watches. Now, many years later, this has not changed at all. In 2017 we have reinvented ourselves to serve our readers in a different and better way. Starting in 2017, the new 0024 is again better equipped to interact with the changing world of high-end watches. The new 0024 HORLOGES magazine (written in Dutch) will be at least a 200 pager: that’s twice the volume of our magazine in the old days.
