For Richard Mille this is the last year to join the SIHH. Their reason for this is so good that it almost sounds arrogant: they just do not need the SIHH anymore. Richard Mille is already struggling to offer some variety in models to clients who visit their boutiques, because the precious high-tech wrist jewelery of the brand sell like hot cakes. For them, expanding their dealer network does not make any sense, so Richard Mille does the opposite. From next year on, they will cater their rich clientèle and launch new models with local events. By doing this, they will be able to get in touch with their fans directly.

Quitting the SIHH next year does not mean they did not present a range of new watches during this year’s show.

Sweets for the sweet is the credo for 2019. Inspired by fruit and Candy, Richard Mille presented a large collection of ladies’ models. In the colourful Bonbon collection Mille combines high-tech materials with traditional craftsmanship and the result is amazing! The watches are not only funny, but the quality also radiates. Of course, these toys are only obtainable for the richest among us, because the cheapest version already costs around 135,000 euros, a price that will have a sour aftertaste for anyone with a sweet tooth. Mille will not loose sleep over this, because there is a good chance that all versions of these limited editions have long been sold out at the end of the SIHH.

The author 0024 Editorial Team

When we started publishing our first high-end watch magazine in 1999, we had only one intention: increasing the popularity of high-quality mechanical watches. Now, many years later, this has not changed at all. In 2017 we have reinvented ourselves to serve our readers in a different and better way. Starting in 2017, the new 0024 is again better equipped to interact with the changing world of high-end watches. The new 0024 HORLOGES magazine (written in Dutch) will be at least a 200 pager: that’s twice the volume of our magazine in the old days.
