From idea to watch. This realisation is a process in which the CEO, the Watch Division Director, the Creative Director and the Ambassador step onto the stage and play a leading role with devotion, dedication and love. These past four years a lot has happened and changed at Montblanc when it comes to watches. 0024 WatchWorld talked to four initiators of these changes. In this first of four episodes: CEO Jerôme Lambert.

The Panerai production headquarter is no longer located in the former police station near the lake, but has since 2014 been located up a bit further in the hilly Pierre-á-Bout area. The building is not a former this or that but instead a 10.000 square meters state of the art manufacture build specifically to Panerai offering a fantastic workplace for approximately 250 employees. Our reporter Kristian Haagen flew over for a visit and came back with facts and photos.

The interest of vintage watches has never been bigger than it is today. And while the Newmans, Nautilus’ and tourbillons keep breaking records, collectors start to look elsewhere for that new interesting timepiece. One of these interesting news is the Heuer Autavia. When Jack Heuer designed the Autavia, he wanted to create a stopwatch that could be used by motor heads as well as pilots of all trades. The name is a play with the two words AUTo and AVIAtion, according to Jack Heuer.

The use of the brand name in the title was superfluous, really. Reverso is Jaeger-LeCoultre and vice versa. According to Jaeger-LeCoultre’s International Marketing Director, Stéphane Belmont, the Reverso name is even stronger than the name of the maison. This year the Bulgari Roma is celebrating its 40th birthday with, among other things, the Roma Finissimo, Bulgari Roma Tourbillon Finissimo, Bulgari Solotempo and Bulgari Roma Tubogas anniversary models. 0024 focuses on the anniversary by means of an interview with Bulgari’s Chief Watch Designer, Fabrizio Buonamassa.

The Zeitwerk Minute Repeater by A. Lange & Söhne is a watch with ‘soul’. Everything about the watch is idiosyncratic and that results in a unique rhythm and sound. The brain behind this ultra-complicated creation is Tony de Haas. Apart from being the Director of Product Development at Lange the Dutchman is also a passionate drummer. Together with Tony we hit the studio for a unique, rhythmic and rocking report.

It's a lot easier to obtain a visa for North Korea than to book a fully organised trip to the head office and production facilities of Rolex.
